Sometimes you don't have time to learn long lists of words and phrases. All you want to know are the bare essentials for communicating to get what you need, or where you need to go.

Pronunciation Guide
Consonants:
c is pronounced ts as in cats
č is pronounced as ch as in church (tʃ)
h is pronounced as kh as in loch or Bach (x)
j is pronounced as y as in yell (IPA j)
š is pronounced as sh as in shop (ʃ)
v is pronounced as either u, w, ʋ, v or f before a consonant, depending on the area
v is pronounced as w at the end of a word
v is pronounced as ʋ between vowels (midway between w and v)
ž is pronounced as zh as in pleasure (ʒ)

Please note:
The word sem (I am) is pronounced as səm.
